Join us for relaxing and inclusive family swim sessions at Pond Meadow School, featuring a hydrotherapy pool (34-36 degrees celsius) ideal for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs who are not able to access a mainstream leisure pool facility, alongside their families and carers.

What to expect

  • A warm, calm, and supportive environment perfect for gentle swimming, water therapy, and family fun. Please note that due to the size and temperature of the pool it is not suitable for swimming lengths.

  • Sessions tailored to individual needs with qualified swimming teacher and physiotherapist on hand.

  • A safe space to build confidence in the water and enjoy movement with friends and family.

Accessibility

  • The hydrotherapy pool has steps with a hand-rail access as well as hoist access (please provide your own individual sling and make sure to book a ‘hoist access ticket’) to support safe entry and exit.

  • Two general changing rooms with benches and toilets.

  • Two accessible changing rooms with toilets, hoists and adult-sized high-low changing tables.

  • Accessible parking available close to the entrance.

  • Step-free access from car park to hydrotherapy area.

  • Support from swim teacher and physiotherapist ensures everyone can take part comfortably, especially if an extra pair of hands is needed.

Who is it for?

This is a family-friendly session welcoming children and young people with disabilities and additional needs, their siblings, parents, carers, and friends. Everyone can enjoy the water in a calm, inclusive, and nurturing space.
