We welcome volunteers from all walks of life – whether you are an individual, part of a corporate team, a student, or simply someone who wants to have fun and give back to your community in a meaningful way.

You don’t need any previous experience to get involved. All you need is enthusiasm, kindness and a willingness to get stuck in and make a difference.

If you have a little time to spare and a big heart for inclusion, we’d love to hear from you.

“I have helped volunteer on many occasions and have had the privilege to see so many young people take part in activities, make new friends and overall enjoy themselves. Even as a volunteer I have really enjoyed myself and have really seen my confidence and leadership skills grow.”

How you can volunteer

We don’t require a set time commitment – we offer flexible opportunities to suit your availability, whether that’s a regular project volunteer role, supporting a one-off event or anything in between.

  • Activity Volunteers support our weekend and holiday activity sessions

  • Project Volunteers help us behind the scenes with much needed work such as fundraising or administrative support

  • Therapist Volunteers, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists, support our weekend and holiday activity sessions

  • You could also offer your professional skills, such as IT, photography, arts, marketing, etc – we’d love your help!

  • As part of the DofE and youth schemes

Why volunteer with fit?

Our volunteers often tell us how rewarding the experience is and how much joy they get from being involved.

Volunteering with f⁶it is a fantastic way to:

  • Try something new

  • Make a positive impact in your community

  • Meet new people and make friends

  • Build skills and gain valuable experience

  • Take on meaningful challenges

  • Share your talents to help others

  • Grow your confidence and sense of purpose

  • And most of all – have fun!

“Being a therapist volunteer with fit is incredibly rewarding. Seeing individual children and young people who face many challenges in their life, build confidence, enjoy an activity & have fun, and feel truly included is inspiring. I think what makes fit different is the activities can be with their siblings and/or friends so involves more than just them. fit is creating a supportive and positive community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. I feel incredibly proud to have been part of its journey as a volunteer from the very beginning to where it is now, and with the charity in its infancy it is exciting to see it continue to grow!”
